William Francis Kaminski passed away on November 25, 2021 at the age of 69 in Naples, FL. He was born in 1952 in Brooklyn, NY, son of Francis Xavier Kaminski and Gloria Kaminski (née Johnson). William graduated from the New York School of Printing in 1970 and set off on a career in various roles, eventually landing with the New York City Department of Sanitation where he spent over 20 years, rising to the rank of Sanitation Supervisor. Most notable during his career, he was a 9/11 first responder and spent several weeks assisting with the World Trade Center clean-up efforts shortly after the attacks.

He married Mary Murphy in 1980 in Brooklyn, NY and soon moved to New Jersey, where together they raised one son, Chris Kaminski, born in 1990. An avid sports fan, William amassed an impressive collection of autographs and jerseys and loved talking about current events in sports with his son. He was a football, baseball, and basketball coach at the youth level for several leagues across New York and New Jersey. When he wasn't coaching his son, William made sure to attend every one of Chris' sporting events. He was a consummate family man, consistently putting the needs of his wife and son before his own. One of his proudest moments was watching his son receive his degree from the University of Virginia.

Per William's wishes, he was cremated in Naples, FL. A memorial service to celebrate William's life will be held at Clavin's Funeral Home in Brooklyn, NY on Tuesday, December 14th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. A Catholic mass service will follow at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Brooklyn, NY on Wednesday, December 15th at 11:00am.
