Vasilios "Bill" Kantartzis was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, who passed away at the age of 86 on May 6, 2022. Born in the village of Perama on the island of Lesvos, Greece, Vasilios immigrated to Astoria, Queens in 1969 where he and his wife Dina embarked upon a new life together and raised two children, Fevronia and Vlasios. In 1979 he moved to Palisades Park, NJ where he resided for nearly 43 years.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Vlasios and Fevronia Kantartzis, refugees of the Ottoman Empire who survived the 1922 Asia Minor Disaster, and his cherished sister, Eleni (Nikolaos) Papalexandrou. He is survived by his loving wife, Dina, brother Giorgios (Stratoula), children Fevronia (Steven) and Vlasios, and grandchildren Eleni, Georgia, and Thomas.
His family and friends will always remember his loving and cheerful disposition. He will be dearly missed.
May his memory be eternal.
