Stanley John Rukaniec was born and raised on 17th St, Brooklyn, where he grew up playing stick ball and with his dog. His parents, Jan and Helen Rukaniec were first generation Polish-American immigrants. He married his beloved wife Marie Santangelo Rukaniec in 1951 at St. Peter's Church in lower Manhattan. Stanley proudly served in the army during the Korean War and had fond memories of the people he served with. Following the war, Stanley worked as the manager at a successful printing company, from which he retired in the early nineties. He had three children, Jan, Margaret, and Richard; who he raised in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn and four grandchildren; Rebecca, Alexander, Cassandra, and Mackenzie. Stanley also adored his in-laws, Sue Ellen Goldstein Rukaniec (Richard) and John Francis Clark (Rebecca), who enriched his holidays and weekends. Stanley enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and talking to them about their lives and his experiences. His family will miss him deeply and the wonderful times they spent with him.
