Obituary

Shannon Rose Legg, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023 in her sleep from an underlying health condition. She was only 30 years old. Her family is deeply saddened by her sudden death. Shannon was born on October 14, 1992.

Shannon is survived by her parents Peggy Lapre and James Legg; her siblings Melissa Khalatbari, Alex Lapre, and Jaimee Legg; and nieces Phoebe and Clara. She leaves behind her beloved dog Poppy, her cat Lynx, and turtle Uncle Nunzio. She is also loved and remembered by countless friends.

Shannon was born and raised in Brooklyn. Attending Fontbonne Hall Academy and then earning her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice at Saint Joseph's University.

Animals were always on Shannon's mind. Her deep compassion for animals followed her throughout her entire life. Her childhood was filled with begging to bring new animals home so she could pamper and spoil them. Her family remembers Shannon "testing" the pet food, making certain it was "good enough" for her animals.

She was proud of her role as a Clinic Manager for Bond Veterinary where she was able to help animals (and their humans).

Authentic in all that she did, Shannon was an extremely loyal friend and family member. She cared deeply about the people in her life and showed it in many ways - collecting small gifts and sending messages to those she cared about to let them know she was thinking of them.

Shannon loved music. Listening, dancing, karaoke-ing - she loved it all. She didn't just love one genre of music - she kept adding more and more music to her life and knew the words of all of her favorite songs and musicals.

A talented artist, Shannon's paintings and photography were focused on things that she loved most - family, friends, and pets. She enjoyed traveling with her friends, and often captured beautiful photographs of everyday moments in her travels.

Shannon was everyone's favorite couch potato. She could often be found binging on true crime and reality tv from her Bay Ridge sofa.

Shannon will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her. Gone far too soon, but will never be forgotten.
