Kelter, Selma (nee Daas), on October 18, 2016. Selma Kelter passed away peacefully at her home in Brooklyn, New York on October 18, 2016. She was 101 years old. Selma was born in Brooklyn, New York and lived there her entire life. She was predeceased by her husband Murray Kelter, her parents Helen and Abdullah Daas and her 6 siblings, Alexander, Frederick, Victor, Edna, Henry and Helen. Selma was a graduate of Bay Ridge High School and Brooklyn College and worked for NY State Employment Counseling until retirement. She was active for many years at her church and the Salvation Army and helped many people both at work and in her community. She had a passion for reading, gardening, cooking and baking. Entertaining and cooking for family and friends at holidays and throughout the year was her joy. She is survived by four children Patricia, Barbara, Robert, and Carol. She is also survived by her grandchildren Scott, Vincent, Christie, David and Michael and her great grandchildren Kyanna and Dakota.
