Sister Alice Francis Young was born in Brooklyn on April 14, 1915, and entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph on September 8, 1932

Sister Alice served on the faculty of St. Joseph's College for 43 years, and she was very instrumental in the creation of the first Headstart Program in New York City.  With Sister Margaret Louise, she also "starred" in a series of television programs on the moral and religious development of children.

Throughout her long and rich life, Sister Alice touched the minds and hearts of many, and her graceful, loving presence will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
