Rose Ciavatella, affectionately known as Rosie, of Brooklyn, N.Y. entered into eternal life on the evening of August 25 with her loving husband Richard by her side.

Born on November 14, 1952 in Polignano a Mare, Bari,  Italy to Angela and Filomeno Arvizzigno, she came to the United States at 2 years old with her family. She grew up in Astoria, Queens, graduating from Long Island City High School in 1969.  Rose spent most of her career working for Christie's Auction House as an Executive Secretary.

Rose was predeceased by both her parents, Angela and Filomeno Arvizzigno. She is survived by her husband Richard of 25 years, siblings Frank, Anna and Joseph, and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Rosie loved life and lived it to the fullest with a huge heart full of love for her family and friends. She was hysterical and enjoyed making others laugh. She loved to travel with Richard and spent so many vacations at Sandals Resorts in Jamaica, that the employees knew her by name.

Rosie loved antiquing and has a home full of beautiful antiques. She was very talented with crafts and cooking. She could make anything for a wedding, birthday or special celebration and she was quick to offer to do so.

Rosie's cooking was unbelievable and delicious. She loved to create in her kitchen and have others enjoy her food. She especially loved to cook for her husband Richard.

Her artistic creations and foods were larger than life and we were always amazed by her talents.  Rosie was larger than life and we were all blessed to have been a part of her life. Our hearts are aching and empty but we are comforted knowing that Jesus has wrapped His arms around her now.

"With their last breath those we have greatly loved do not say good-bye, for love is timeless. Instead, they leave us with a solemn promise- when they are finally at rest, they will continue to be present to us whenever they are called upon. Let us remember that in the Tree of Life their roots and ours are forever intertwined."
