Obituary

Ronald A. Williams passed away on February 6, 2023 at the age of 90.

Ronald is survived by his daughter, Lori Williams, and two grandchildren, Heather and William Freitag.

He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Gilbert and Camille Quinton, Debra and Angelo Sigismondo, Victoria Quinton, their children Michael and Vincent Sigismondo, Gilbert and Penelope Quinton, and Will Swiss.

Ronald was predeceased by his parents, William and Isabella Carmichael Williams, his sisters Dorothy Quinton and Margaret Williams, his wife Joan Williams, sons Scott and James Williams, his brother-in-law Gilbert Quinton Sr., and nephew-in-law Steve Swiss.

Ronald worked as an iceman in his early years. After serving in the United States Army during the Korean War, he worked at UPS and the Domino Sugar Factory. He then became a New York City Sanitation Worker, where he was well respected by his peers and leaders.

He was a great provider for his family. He loved working with his hands and could repair anything. Ronald rooted for the NY Mets, Brooklyn Dodgers and Coney Island Cyclones. He was an avid fan of Elvis Presley, cars, and all animals, especially cats, dogs and sea otters he saw in Alaska. He cared greatly for the family pets over the years, including Lucky, Lady, Sparky, Chestnut, Mindy and Minx.

He was an active member of the South Reformed Church, Bay Ridge United Church, Fourth Avenue Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn. He was proud to be a Veteran. He marched in the Memorial Day Parade with Heather's Girl Scout Troop. He loved his family and friends deeply, and will be missed by all.
