Obituary

Robina S. Colvin (née Sinclair) passed away at the age of 101 after a long and happy life.

Robina was born in Ferryden, Scotland. She immigrated to Brooklyn with her parents and graduated from Bay Ridge High School at the age of 16. After High School she went to work at Metropolitan Life. As a young adult she was active in the young adult group at Fourth Avenue Methodist Church where she met the love of her life, Ernest Colvin. Robina and Ernest were active in the Bay Ridge United Methodist Church where they represented the church in the Bay Ridge Community Council for many years. Robina left Metropolitan Life to raise her 3 children and later returned to work at Abraham & Strauss.

Robina and Ernest were married for 63 wonderful years until Ernest's death in 2009. She frequently remarked that they always had fun! Robina loved and enjoyed life. Last year, at the age of 100 she danced at her granddaughter's wedding.

Robina will be sorely missed by her long-time friend, Rowena Wilson and her companion Mariola Janeczek who took care of her for many years as her housekeeper, health aide.

Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will always remember and cherish the years they had with Robina and she will live in their hearts forever.

Robina is survived by her 3 children- Margaret Colvin, Janet Kennedy and her husband George, Robert Colvin and his wife Maria.  Her son-in-law, Frank Polizzi (Margaret's husband), predeceased Robina.  Her grandchildren Katherine Murphy and her husband Richard, James Polizzi and his wife Ramzia, Melissa Kennedy, Alison Polizzi and her husband Volodymyr Osadchyy, George Kennedy and his wife Melissa, Gregory Colvin and his wife Theresa, Susan Kennedy, Laurie Nelson and her husband Ryan. In addition, her great grandchildren Vera, Vivian and Evelyn Murphy.  Vanessa and Sabrina Polizzi.  Cameron and Carter Colvin.  Mackenzie and Trevor Nelson.  Robina is also survived by her step-granddaughter Lisa Talarico and her husband Frank and her step-grandchildren Christopher, Andrew, Alexandra and Ryan Talarico.
