Robert James Hasselbach, age 71, beloved father, passed away on August 25, 2020 of natural causes. He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph and mother, Eleanor and survived by his two children, Dr. Sharon Hasselbach and Dr. Robert Hasselbach, both of Pittsburgh. Born August 12, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY, Robert was a Vietnam War Veteran and a member of the A CO 3rd Battalion Airmobile 506th infantry where he received a Purple Heart medal and was honorably discharged upon being wounded in combat. Robert was a lifelong train enthusiast and proud employee of the NYC Transit Authority. His personality was as big as his heart and his laugh was beyond contagious. He was a true friend to all who had the pleasure of making his acquaintance and will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on August 31st between 9am - 11am at the Clavin Funeral Home (7722 4th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11209) with interment to immediately follow at St. John's Cemetery (80-01 Metropolitan Ave, Middle Village, NY 11379).
