Richard Neil Hansen, 76, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Lutheran Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Hartley and Ruth Hansen, he lived most of his life in Bay Ridge.

Upon graduation from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1958, Richard enrolled at Pratt Institute. After his time at Pratt, Richard joined the U.S. Navy and served his country faithfully as a Seabee during the Vietnam War. In 1971, Richard married the love of his life Mary Ellen Hennessy.

Richard is survived by his son Christopher Hansen, daughter-in-law Paula Hansen, sister Nancy Bumby, and many loving extended family members. In life, Richard was a loving father, husband, and friend to all.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 12th between the hours of 2 and 4 pm and 7 and 9 pm at the Clavin Funeral Home, 7722 Fourth Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.
