Ray Wendt passed away on August 27, 2025. He was born in the borough he truly loves, Brooklyn, on January 1, 1950. Ray was the beloved husband of Mary McConnell, devoted father of James and Adele Wendt, and father-in-law to Beth Velinsky Wendt. Ray was a proud grandfather of Violet and Julian Wendt. He was the dear brother of Richard Wendt and Susan Mondel. Ray was a dedicated teacher of English for over 20 years and a teacher of swimming as well. A quiet person socially, Ray had a great sense of humor and was a devoted Mets fan. He will be remembered for his devotion to family and community.
