Phillip Avon Donohue, of Brooklyn NY, passed away on Tuesday January 28, 2025 at the age of 86.

Born in Brooklyn to Avon Robert Donohue and Ethel Murphy Donohue, Phil attended St. Ephrem grammar school, St. John's Prep and Fordham University, graduating with a degree in business. He served as a First Lieutenant in the National Guard with the 7th Regiment.

Phil worked for Lehman Brothers as a stockbroker for over 30 years. In his retirement, he served as the Assistant Executive Director for the 86th St. Business Improvement District. For the past 25 years, Phil worked for St. Anselm Roman Catholic Church. Through his involvement with the Youth Activities program and Boy Scouts of America Troop 13, Phil was known and loved by generations of St. Anselm families.

In addition to his years of service to the Bay Ridge community, Phil was a lifelong member of the Breezy Point Surf Club, serving as the unofficial "Mayor of A Court" and founder of the "A Court Library".

Phil lived life to the fullest, enjoying classical music, hot dogs, beer, cardboard boxes, science fiction & fantasy books, hot dogs, Jeopardy, Scrabble, plaid shirts and hot dogs.

He is survived by his wife Ann, his daughter Andi Gruber (Mike), his two sons Drew and Mark (Amanda) and his brother Brian (Adele). He was also the proud grandfather of Luke, Amy, Lila, Teddy, Nora, Lucy, and Matthew.
