Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Doyle, who left us peacefully in his sleep on June 20, 2026, just four days after celebrating his 58th birthday. Born on June 16, 1968, in the vibrant neighborhood of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, Patrick was a true son of New York, where he lived, loved, and enriched the lives of everyone around him.

Patrick was the cherished son of William T. Doyle and Margaret M. Doyle, who predeceased him and now welcome him into eternal rest alongside his dear siblings, Mary, Christopher, and David. Our hearts go out to his surviving family members: his devoted brother and sister, William Doyle and Margaret Imbriale; his beloved companion, the love of his life, Illya; and Stephanie Pena, along with her daughter, who brought him immense joy. Patrick’s legacy also lives on through his five nieces and nephew—Lisa, Christine, William Jr., Meghan, and Charlene—and his seven grand nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored.

Patrick's life was a tapestry woven from the threads of love, friendship, and community. A proud graduate of Bishop Ford High School, it was here that he forged a lifelong friendship with Hugh Gallagher and Joseph Volpe, true bonds I'm that stood the test of time. Patrick's professional journey began in the wholesale building products industry, where he played a critical role in shaping the New York skyline as a salesman and manager at leading distribution firms. Later, he became a beloved "Jack of All Trades" in his Bay Ridge community, known for his infectious smile, unwavering humor, and boundless generosity.

Patrick’s love for the sea was evident in his younger years while fishing along the Shore Road seawall, but it was his compassionate heart for animals that truly defined him. A devoted rescuer of dogs, his home was a haven for many four-legged friends, with Buddy being his closest companion. He supported numerous animal welfare organizations, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and empathy.

Although Patrick never married, his life was enriched by the presence of Illya, who steadfastly stood by his side, offering love and support throughout his courageous battle with terminal cancer. Her unwavering dedication, despite her own health struggles, is a testament to their profound love, for which Patrick’s family will be forever grateful.

In this time of mourning, we extend our sincere gratitude to the medical professionals who cared for Patrick and to the generous souls who contributed to his Go Fund Me campaign, providing crucial support in his time of need.

The family wishes to share a heartfelt message: prioritize your health, seek regular medical advice, and start recommended testing early. Early detection could have altered Patrick’s journey, and we hope it may one day save you.

In honor of Patrick’s life, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. Celebrate his memory by spreading love and compassion, as he did throughout his life.

Patrick’s presence in our lives was a gift, and though he is no longer with us, he will forever live on in our hearts. Patrick's funeral arrangements will be announced in the near future. Love to all, and thank you for being a part of his life.
