Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pasquale “Patsy” Vacca, 75 years old. Pasquale was a devoted father and grandfather, a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, and a lifelong Yankees fan. He was a 22-year veteran of the Triboro Bridge and Tunnel Authority, an organization he served proudly as a peace officer. He was non-stop and always on the move, a man whose life’s path saw him working as a taxi driver and a delivery man, becoming a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, and even serving as the president of his condo board during the 16 years he spent living in Delray Beach, Florida. From a young age Patsy was the beloved “Old Man” to all of his friends and an avid music lover, an attendee of the original Woodstock music festival with tastes ranging from the Beatles to Frank Sinatra to Billy Joel. Born to Angelina Colonna and Frank Vacca, he grew up a proud Italian-American alongside his sister Patricia in south Brooklyn, a place that he called home for most of his life. Patsy is survived by the mother of his children Margie, his sister Patricia, his children Jaime (Tom) Vacca-Hoefner, Katie (Thomas) Portelli, and Michael (Lindsay) Vacca, and his grandchildren Gabriella, Kingston, Lucy, Rowdy, Audrey, Lucas, and Rosalina, to whom he was their beloved Peepaw.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Pasquale's memory to:
