Monserrate Abrams (Chitin) was born in Quebradilla, Puerto Rico on September 8, 1916 and departed with her family by her side at the age of 103 on February 26, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband Federico Del Pilar, her daughter Lydia Milagros Guzman and her granddaughters Hilda Guzman and Peggy Guzman. Monserrate is survived by her daughter Providencia Del Pilar Cenci, and grandchildren: David Guzman, Michael Cenci, Benjamin Guzman (Elizabeth) and her great grandchildren: Logan Mathew Guzman and Liam Michael Guzman. Monserrate lived a full life and was an energetic and spirited woman. In her lifetime she lived both in Puerto Rico and New York City. She worked in the garment industry until the age of 78. Monserrate traveled extensively both independently and with her daughter Providencia.

She will be most remembered for her ability to make "Life" a party!
