Obituary

Mary Raymond, 92 of Boston, MA, died Thursday, April 25, 2024. Mary was born in Brooklyn and lived most of her life there until retiring to Leisure Village West in Manchester NJ in 2000. She attended St. Theresa of Avila elementary school and Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School. Later in life, she attended Fordham University. Mary held several positions over the years and especially loved her work as the Assistant Director for the Human Services Workshops at Good Shepherd Services. Kind-hearted, and shy as a child, she found the spotlight on stage and was a talented actress. In high school, she often earned the lead role. Later, she performed in many shows with the Ladies Auxiliary at OLPH. She was very active in the community, serving as a girl scout leader and substitute teacher. During her time at Leisure Village West, she was engaged with the Irish American club, Caritas, and sang with the Westernaires. Her smile and sense of humor were contagious. She enjoyed life and had many friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband  of 65 years, Thomas L. Raymond. She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Andrea McKechine), John (Lenore), Robert (Claire), and her daughter Jennifer (Jodi Cohen), and two grandchildren, Dylan Raymond and Beatrix Cohen-Raymond, as well as her three sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
