Mary was born in County Cork, Ireland on September 17, 1931 unto Michael and Catherine O'Connor.  Mary is predeceased by her 14 brothers and sisters.  Mary was beloved by all her family and friends.

Mary started her career as a Registered Nurse when she arrived in the United States in 1952.  For the next forty years Mary would provide comfort and aid to the sick and vulnerable.  Mary worked at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital, Shore Road Hospital, Norwegian Nursing Home, and Holy Family Home.  It was while working at Holy Family Home, when she was introduced to her future husband, John Callaghan(Predeceased).
Mary and John enjoyed a beautiful life together, traveling many times to Ireland and Florida.  They both shared a love for all things Irish, including Irish music and culture.

Mary loved spending time with family and friends.  Mary is survived by her stepson, four grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and numerous grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, and great grandnephews.
