Obituary

Our beloved sister, Mary Theresa Ayoub, passed away on April 29, 2020 at age 67.  Mary was a very special gift to this world; she was beautiful, bright, caring and gentle!

Born in Brooklyn on March 24, 1953, Mary worked as a secretary on Wall Street for many years, before leaving her career to start a family.  She raised two incredible sons before struggling with mental and physical illness.  While accepting the difficulties of these diagnoses, she always remained a very compassionate, giving, and quite remarkable person. What did she do?  Mary left an indelible imprint on people's hearts! She will always be remembered for "being the better person" and touching all whom she met, like a warm breeze, gentle sun and fragrant flower. She taught us how to be with each other in kindness.

Mary is survived by her amazing son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Genadry and Cammie Yang, and her beautiful grandson Isaiah Genadry, Irvine, CA; brother James Ayoub and wife Kate Hinkle, New York, NY; brother Robert Ayoub and wife Elizabeth Ayoub, Brooklyn, NY; brother Edmund Ayoub, Brooklyn, NY; brother Lawrence Ayoub and wife Arlene Ayoub, Brooklyn, NY; and sister Leslie Moran and husband Tim Moran, Princeton, NJ.

Mary is also survived by her nieces and nephews, all of whom loved and appreciated her very deeply: Ana Ayoub, Andy Ayoub and wife Kate Ayoub, Sara Snyder and husband Brad Snyder, Justin Ayoub, Brian Moran, Casey Moran, Leah Moran, Gabrielle Ayoub, and Alexander Ayoub.

Mary is predeceased by parents Gloria and Edmund Ayoub, and beloved son Christopher Genadry. Please help us in honoring Mary by extending a gentle gesture to anyone you meet, as she always seemed to do, while instinctively recognizing when others had difficulties. A private burial will be held on Friday, May 8th, 2020 at St. John's Cemetery in Queens NY. A future mass and celebration of Mary's life will be held when possible.
