Marion A. Mulligan (nee Gulbin) passed away on June 1, 2022 at the age of 93. Born to John Gulbin and Anna Fox on January 14, 1929. Beloved wife to the late Edward. Loving mother of 7 children: Donald (Patricia), Patricia, Edward (Nancy), John (Linda), Michael (Alice), James (Victoria) and Terence (Flavia). Proud grandmother of 13: Timothy, Sean, Cody, Kelsey, Jessica, Lauren, Kathryn, Meghan, Ian, Sarah, Elizabeth, Michael, Brooklyn. Great-grandmother of 10: Charlie, Christina, Brixton, Ryker, Liam, Nora, Roxanne, Juliet, James, and Grant.
Marion, born and raised a Catholic in the Our Lady of Angels Parish, later an active member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, was devout in her faith all of her days. Upon the untimely death of her husband Edward in 1969, Marion put her St. Joseph's Business School training to use as St. Andrew's secretary and then on to the law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham &Taft as a secretary.
In her early years as a wife and mother, Marion was active in social and church related activities ranging from Scouting, Rosary Society, and theater plays at O.L.A. Following the "old days", Marion's love of singing led her to join the Jeff Samaha Singers as a member for 15 years.
Marion's talents ranged from sewing, photography, wreath and floral arrangements, and baking. She loved movies and during our visits she would usually be found watching a Hallmark Christmas movie, even in August. Marion, as evidenced in pictures, had a keen sense of style with her scarves, pearls and fascinator to top off the look of the day. She had a terrific voice, where she would often be heard belting out a Broadway tune.
The Mulligan and Gulbin family wish to express our deepest thanks to her lifelong friends who gave their help and comfort during her life, her neighbors on Senator Street and 7119 Shore Road, and the residents and staff at Sunnyside Manor where she last resided. She is loved and will be deeply missed. "Peace Be Unto You"
"Keep your chin up, old bean!"
