IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mariana
Posada
February 21, 2026
Mariana Posada, 88, passed away peacefully, carrying with her a heart full of kindness and grace.
Born in Cuba, she was one of five children of her loving parents, Narcisa and Ricardo Milian. In 1966, she immigrated to the United States with her husband and her daughter, Narcisa, where together they built a successful and fulfilling life in Brooklyn, New York. She was deeply loved and respected by her family, friends, and community.
Throughout her life, Mariana embraced entrepreneurship with joy and determination, proudly owning and operating a clothing boutique and later two candy stores in Sunset Park. Her independence, energy, and gift for connecting with others were at the heart of her success.
As a young woman, she taught catechism classes at her local church in Guines, Havana, and worked alongside her parents in their men's wholesale clothing store, La Dichosa (The Lucky One). Deeply rooted in her heritage—with both parents tracing their lineage to Lebanon—she carried immense pride in her cultural background and celebrated becoming an American citizen in 1983.
Mariana will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her hopeful outlook, her compassion, and her generous heart. She lived her faith through her actions, embracing forgiveness, kindness, and genuine Christian values. She was the life of every gathering—always ready with a smile, a warm embrace, and laughter that invited everyone in. "We were waiting for your arrival to start the music and dancing!" is a sentiment that captures her essence perfectly.
