Beautiful Marguerite 'Marge' Moran passed away peacefully this week with all of her children by her side. Marge was just shy of her 89th birthday and lived in Breezy Point for several years with her caring daughter and namesake Marguerite and her loving family, Dorothy, Dylan, Matt and little Marguerite. Raised in foster care from a young age, Marge always credited her faith, positive attitude, willingness to see the good in others and sense of humor as the attributes that helped her in those early years and throughout her life. In 1950, she graduated from John Adams High School in Queens and worked as an administrative assistant upon graduation. In 1956, she met Joseph A. Moran, the son of Joseph and Margaret Moran. They were married for 54 years until Joe's death in 2011. The family were founding partners of the Circle Line. While Joe ran the family business, Marge raised five wonderful children, Joseph, Danny, Marguerite, Billy and Bobby. Their house was a happy one, overseen by a woman who loved life and all that it had to offer. They spent their summers at the Surf Club on West Court in the family cabana --- a 'double' on the end. Marge knew how to throw a good party and there were many! After raising her family, Marge continued her education and earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees at St. John's University in Queens. Thereafter, she taught English for many years at St. John's, sharing her wisdom and life's lessons with many students and faculty. Marge loved walking the beach, sunsets on the Bayside, pinot grigio with her girls, and holidays with her family. Marge lovingly welcomed her daughters-in-law, Megan, MaryJane, and Mary into the family fold and created a special bond with each. She will be sorely missed by her grandchildren Billy (Michelle), Marissa, Michele, Paul, Daniel, Joseph, Michael, Timothy, Matthew, Marguerite, Alexandria and Emma who will all cherish their memories of Easters in Naples, Christmases at the Club, graduation trips overseas and simple Sunday dinners --- all hosted by her generous spirit. Her funeral mass will be held at her beloved Our Lady of Angels Church in Bay Ridge, where she was a parishioner for over 40 years.
