On October 26, 2021, Margaret Elizabeth Kearns (nee Walsh), of Oughterard, Connemara, Co. Galway passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family at age 93. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Kearns. Devoted mother to Patrick (Carol), Thomas, Brendan (Christina), and Eileen (John). Proud grandmother of Kelley Ann, Jennifer (Christian), Maureen, Brian (Kayla), Brianne, Brendan, Kieran, Kiera, Kory, Mychal, Claire, Faith, Grace. Loving great-grandmother of Nolan. Dear sister of late Paddy, Jimmy, Bridget, Mary, Catherine, and Barbara. Also survived by many (and we mean many) loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins in the United States, Ireland, the UK and all over the world. Margaret lived in Bay Ridge for over 67 years. Margaret will be dearly missed by a countless number of friends and will always be remembered for the times she would go up and down the block to the corner store, and take two hours on her return trip because she would strike up conversations with every neighbor along the way. Margaret, also known as "Nanny Kearns" to millions of TikTok viewers, will always live on in memory for her wit, humor, smile, and numerous motivational catchphrases like: "I pass no remarks", "Keep smiling and the whole world will smile with you," "Don't take things too seriously. Remember to laugh. "Always keep God close."
