Peggy was born in Brooklyn on October 8, 1932. She was raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn by parents Anna and Francis Corrigan and resided there her entire life. Peggy graduated from Bay Ridge High School and worked as a secretary. She married the late Bernard J. Carney, Jr., in November, 1953. After staying at home to raise her children, Peggy worked at the St. Francis College library and later became an intake counselor at Methodist Hospital. After she retired, Peggy enjoyed an active social life through the Senior friendship clubs in Bay Ridge. She loved to play Bingo and card games, and attend concerts, trips and dances with the friends she'd made. Peggy is survived by her sons, Brian, Jimmy, Michael and Thomas, her daughters-in-law, Mary Ellen, Jeanne, Erin, and Mei and her six grandchildren, Kaitlin Carney Haas (Jeffrey), Mary Ellen, Bernard, Meaghan, Kathryn, and Brennan. We will always remember Peg's upbeat approach to life, her laugh and her love of all things Irish.
