IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Mary
Brown
December 21, 2024
Margaret Mary "Peggy" Clavin Brown passed away peacefully on December 21 in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. The daughter of Joseph P. and Della Fahey Clavin, Peggy was born on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn, above the family business, Clavin Funeral Home. She was the youngest of the Clavin children (Mike, Mary, James, Joe, and Tom) all of whom predeceased her.
Peggy attended Our Lady of Angels School, St. Saviour High School, and Notre Dame College of Staten Island, where she developed a lifelong passion for learning and service.
In 1954, Peggy married George M. Brown, and together they built a vibrant life in St. Anselm's parish in Brooklyn, for 40 years, where they raised their family. Peggy was an active member of the PTA, the Rosary Society, and one of the founding leaders of the St. Anselm Marching Band. She generously gave her time as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, always finding ways to enrich the lives of others through her creativity, warmth, and dedication. In Peggy's professional life she worked for many years as a client assistant for Bank of America and its predecessors.
In 1997, Peggy moved to Royal Palm Beach, Florida, where she quickly became a cherished member of her new parish, Our Lady Queen of the Apostles. She was especially devoted to the Council of Catholic Women and deeply appreciated their prayers and support in her later years. Continuing her family's tradition of service, Peggy volunteered for many years at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, a role she held close to her heart.
Peggy was predeceased by her beloved husband, George, and is survived by her three children, George (Kate), Peggy Ann Paul (Frank), and Michael Paul (Leesa); 12 adoring grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. Peggy will be remembered for her quick wit, generous spirit, and deep devotion to her family and faith.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Capstone Senior Living for their kindness and compassionate care of Peggy.
