Ludvig Haugedal,
known as Lunky to his friends, age
72, of Brooklyn, NY passed away on April 5, 2019. Born and raised in Farsund, Norway but called Brooklyn, NY his home for decades.
Lunky was a decorated and distinguished member of The United States Marine Corps serving 4 years as a Manifest Clerk in Vietnam during the war. After his return to civilian life he
worked as a deckhand for both the Statue of Liberty boat/Circle Line and also the 500 ton derrick, "Century" for many years as well as a carpenter with his brother Harry and nephew, Kurt. Lunky enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, specifically his favorite teams, the NY Giants and the NY Mets. He was a talented cook and one of his specialties was the Norwegian traditional holiday pastry krumkake he made every Christmas.
Lunky was quiet and appreciated his alone time but was a good friend and person to whom he was close to. He had a good heart and no matter what he would always try to go out of his way to remember people on their birthdays and special occasions to make them feel loved and special. He will be remembered fondly with love and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his nephew, Kurt Hansen and close family friends, Robert (Lucky) Sweeney, Tara & John Sroka and Glenn Andersen & family.
Lunky is preceded in death by his brother Harry and his son, Erik.
