Lucille passed away peacefully on June 21 in the comfort of her family home with loved ones at her side at the age of 94.

Lucille was born in Greenwich Village and later moved to Brooklyn, growing up in Borough Park with her Italian immigrant parents Peter Paul and Amelia Pascal, her sister Josephine and brother Paul.  She moved to Bay Ridge when she married the late Eugene Sweeney.

LuLu and Gene purchased their Bay Ridge family home 62 years ago where they raised their four wonderful kids.  Lucille was a homemaker and a stay at home mom.  As her kids got older, she became serious about her tennis game.   And when her kids finally moved on with their own lives, Lucille took up the sport of golf where she spent endless hours at the neighborhood golf course with her new golf friends, always trying to improve her score.   She spent her later years knitting up a storm making blankets, sweaters, scarves and headbands for one and all.  She was a great cook and cooked her own meals even at the age of 94.

Lucille is survived by her son Peter Sweeney and daughter in-law Dotty Sweeney and daughters Jeanne Sweeney and JoAnn Sweeney.   She was the proud grandmother of William Flanagan, Jessica Sweeney, Melanie Sweeney and Casey Sweeney with whom she spent endless hours helping to raise her four grandchildren.  She could always be counted on as a babysitter and happily watched and entertained them often.  Will and Amber Flanagan blessed  her with the addition of two great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Flanagan and Conor Flanagan, which is when she earned the nick-name GG.

Lucille was predeceased by her husband Eugene Sweeney, son Patrick Sweeney, brother Paul Pascal and sister Josephine Thompson.

Mom, Grandma and GG will be greatly missed by her family.
