Louis Scagnelli passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024 at the age of 88 surrounded by his loving family. Louis was predeceased by his parents Antonio and Domenica, his beloved wife Angelina, and his brother Modesto. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his three daughters Antanette (Michael) Fenn, Catherine (Daniel) Holohan, and Maryann Chimienti. He has nine beautiful grandchildren Amanda, Emily, Lauren (Parker), Daniel, Elizabeth (Matthew), Michael, Jerry, Dean, and Nicole; a beloved sister Maria Garbarino; and an expansive extended family.

A lifelong resident of Bay Ridge, Louis began his career as a cement mason and was a proud member of the Cement Masons' Local 780. Later in life, he worked for the New York City Housing Authority and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 237. In retirement, he found great joy and fulfillment tending to his beautiful rock garden, spending time with his family and friends, and taking long walks enjoying the scenic views along Shore Road.
