Louis Joseph Celi, of Brooklyn NY, passed away on April 2nd, 2020, at age 93, after a week-long battle with coronavirus. He was born to Nicholas Celi and Rosa (Salvia) on September 16th, 1926. A graduate of St. Michael's high school, he joined the army at 18 yrs old and served overseas in WWII. Following the army, Lou married Evelyn (Carey) in 1947 and later became the proud father of 5 children, Veronica Pawson (John), Louis Celi (Joanne), Evelyn Elizes (Romerl), Monica Celi and Audrey Egan (Mark). Lou graduated with his Masters degree from NYU. With a long career in the airline business, Lou became an expert in statistics and analysis. He enjoyed traveling, taking trips to his country house, investing, watching sports (he was an avid Mets fan), and spending time with his family. Lou was an active member of the Bay Ridge community, the Bay Ridge senior center, the Catholic War Veterans, and Our Lady of Angels parish. Lou joins his wonderful wife, his parents, and two sisters (Rosie and Lina) in heaven. He is survived by his five children, nine grandchildren (Johnny, Karen, Joey, Laura, Shawn, Kara, Patrick, Eric, Emily) and eight great-grandchildren (Jack, Chris, Luke, Joshua, Anya, Miranda, Julie, Timothy). A beautiful person inside and out, Louis Joseph Celi will be missed and loved forever.
