Joseph Stawniczy, 54, Born and raised in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, NY, passed away on September 13, 2020. He is survived by his two brothers Stephen and James Stawniczy, his niece Stephanie and nephews Stephen and Andrew Stawniczy, his Aunt Marilyn 'Chickie' and Uncle Joe DiCarlo, and Josephine Brander. He is also survived by his many loving cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Jean and Stephen as well his many aunt and uncles who join him in heaven.
He was a proud Jets and Met fan, which is a hard job to have in these times. He knew how to make everyone smile when he walked in a room with a joke to start any event. Joseph was born with a love for life and helping others. The most kind and caring person who always put the needs of others before his own. He was a sweetheart who loved to make others feel comfortable despite his own challenges.
Joey was a hard working maintenance man at Catholic Charities in downtown Brooklyn and worked tirelessly during the global pandemic; he was our hero.
Those who knew Joseph, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives and he will forever live on in our hearts as the loving, funny, goofy, and caring person that he was.
In lieu of flowers, family kindly requests that you consider a donation in Joseph's memory to a charity of your choice.
