Joseph McGivney passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Joseph was born and raised in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. He was a proud graduate of Saint Ephrem's, Xaverian High School and Fordham University. After his career in Communications with AT&T and Citigroup, he took great pleasure coaching high school volleyball and tutoring children. His love for sports and music led to many treasured friendships and memories.
He is the beloved husband of forty years to Linda (nee Bonade)and cherished son of the late Nicholas and Lorraine. Joe is the brother to Kathleen Gordon (David), Thomas McGivney (Patricia), Marybeth Maffa (Sal), Michael McGivney (Hilda) and the late Kevin McGivney. He is the loving uncle to ten nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
