John R. Raymond affectionately known as “JR”, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2026. A Brooklyn native, John graduated from Xaverian High School and Pace University.

John adored his family. His wife Lenore was his best friend and his partner in everything. They built a life filled with music and laughter and many, many friends. When his son, Dylan, arrived, John fell in love again. He found incredible joy and inspiration in watching his son grow and succeed. John was happiest sitting out back, strumming his guitar and singing with his family and friends. He loved shooting hoops with his son and golfing at Shore View Golf Club with his buddies. He loved his Bay Ridge community and was well known for his sense of humor. With a clever mind, a love of History, athletic talent, BBQ grilling and a kind heart, John left an imprint on everyone he met. He will be missed terribly by all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife Lenore (McGrath); his son Dylan; siblings Thomas Raymond and Andrea McKechnie of Pelham NY; Robert and Claire Raymond of Charlotte NC; Jennifer Raymond and Jodi Cohen of Milton MA; sister in law Karyn Lortie and her husband Don; and Brother in law Michael McGrath and wife Sara. John was also the beloved Uncle of his niece and nephews, Beatrix, Finn and Nolan. John was the beloved son of the late Thomas and Mary (Beatty) Raymond. John is also survived by many dear Aunts, cherished cousins and countless friends.
