Active member of the 49th Assembly District, Bay Ridge Community Council, Seventeenth Day of May Committee, Bayfort Association, and Veterans Affairs Programs of Kings County, Bay Ridge Historical Society, NYC Ethnic Advisory Board. Beloved husband of 61 years to Barbara (nee Johnson). Loving father of David Nersten (Barbara), Janice Schalek (Mickey) , and John L. Nersten (Tippy). Dear brother of the late Stanley and Arthur Kenneth. Proud grandfather of Kristen, Brian, Patricia and Katie.
