John Patrick Jennings was unexpectedly called to his heavenly rest on April 29th at the age of 93.  John, who was born in Claremorris, Co. Mayo, Ireland emigrated to America at the age of 19, where he met and fell in love with Kathleen Faulkner, also of Ireland.  They married in 1951, moved to Bay Ridge, and raised a family of six children.

He initially worked as a driver for various food supply companies but made his career as a bus operator for MaBSTOA. After many years, he retired from MaBSTOA and had a short second career working for Chase Manhattan Bank.

John loved to tell jokes to his children, but never told the punchline, stating we "weren't old enough to hear it."  We are still waiting for the punchline.  He had an ear for music and taught himself to play the accordion.  His Irish heritage was a major part of his life and he passed that love on to his children.  Sundays always included Irish music on the radio and teaching his daughters how to do a 3-step waltz.  He enjoyed fishing with his sons on Shore Road and on the boats out of Sheepshead Bay.  After retiring from Chase, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending time at their property in Florida.

John is predeceased by his wife of 55 years Kathleen (nee Faulkner) and his son Patrick Joseph (PJ).  He is survived by his children Karen Kennedy (John, deceased), Thomas (Nadine), Kathleen Pulisciano (Philip), Eileen and Sean (Cecilia, deceased). He leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
