John Gibbons passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024 at the ripe old age of almost 94 years. He was surrounded by his family during his final days. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Margaret (nee Farley). Beloved son of the late Joseph and Margaret Gibbons. Loving father of Jack (Yvette), Tom (Arlene), Jim (Mary) and Brian (Jenn). Proud grandfather of Alexa (Bryan), Zach, James (Monica), Ryan (Mary), Kevin, Brendan, Katie, Mary Beth, James, Noelle and Juliette. Great grandfather of Elliott, Conner and Kylie. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. John was the last surviving sibling of 10.

US Army Veteran, Korean War. John was a longtime Bay Ridge, Brooklyn resident who came to this country from County Roscommon, Ireland at the age of 18. He wore many hats throughout his life until settling with the Port Authority at Kennedy Airport. He was a great man who was always willing to lend a hand and he will be sorely missed.
