Loving father of Michael (Inez) and Maria Smith (Kevin).Proud grandfather of Eleanor Dezelich. John was a World War II veteran who served honorably in the Army, Navy, and Merchant Marines for Italy and Yugoslavia. He also had a successful career as a chef in New York City.John worked at the famous Sardi's, and in the 1970's two of the items on the menu were his creations: the "Chicken a la Vincent" and the "Sardi burger".Throughout his life John loved gardening, bike riding, music, and the ocean.Family is the most important thing; and John cherished his family every day of his life.
