John "Johnny" Beale, 84 years old, lifelong resident of Bay Ridge Brooklyn and proud patriot and US Navy Veteran (member of American Legion Post 157), suddenly passed away on February 16, 2019. Johnny was a devoted husband to Alice "Alaree" for over 62 years; Dad was a loving father and in-law to John & Lisa, Donald & Elena, Father Kenneth, and Marypat & John. Pobby was a proud grandfather to Erin, Brendan, Patrick, Kieran, Aidan, Liam, Owen, John, Kimberly, Courtney and blessed with numerous great cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and his sisters-in-law, Lorraine and Maureen. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Kathleen and his brothers Edward & Michael and sisters Collie & Frannie. John was a proud and faith-filled Roman Catholic who was baptized and spiritually nurtured at the Basilica of OLPH. Dad's favorite words of advice, especially in times of distress, "God is Good — All the Time. All the Time —God is Good!" The family will receive friends on February 24 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Clavin Funeral Home, 7722 Fourth Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11209 and invites you to celebrate his life at a Mass of Resurrection at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 529-59th Street, Brooklyn NY 11220 on February 25 at 9:30 AM (military honors immediately after Mass). Burial will take place at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island. The family would like to express our thanks to the EMTs and to the wonderful help and care given by NYU Langone Medical Center. "Home is where your story begins and where your heart always stays."
