Johanna Grace (née Carpenter) Bovo died on April 16, 2018, after a long illness.  She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Bovo, and her siblings Pauline, Rose, Josephine and Samuel.

Mrs. Bovo was born in Boswell, Pennsylvania to Paulo and Grazia (née Cassisi) Carpentieri in 1920.   A longtime Brooklyn resident, Mrs. Bovo resided in Bensonhurst, and more recently, Bay Ridge.  For many years, she was employed as an accountant for the Seafarers Union of North America.  Mrs. Bovo enjoyed several seniors' clubs, including the Grandmothers' Club, dining out and playing cards.  She was a member of St. Ephrem's parish.

Survivors include her daughter Mary (Thomas) Montederosio of Tuscon, Arizona, and son Thomas James (Anne Phelan) Bovo of Bay Ridge; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
