Lane, 84, of Brooklyn and New Fairfield, died peacefully on May 24th after suffering from Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to John and Agnes Connolly and was a lifelong member of St. Ephrem's Parish, where she taught second grade for more than 20 years. She married William L. Lane in 1954 and together they raised 5 children in Brooklyn, with summers spent "up in the country" in Candlewood Knolls since 1969. The Knolls was truly their getaway and the site of so many memories with good friends. She is survived by her children Bill Lane and wife Diane of Raleigh, NC, John Lane and wife Cheryl of Tinton Falls, NJ, Mary Ann and husband Bob Maloney of Staten Island, NY, Joan and husband Mark Morris of Brooklyn, NY, and Beth of Brooklyn, NY, and 7 grandchildren Christine, Meghan, Jessica, Robby, Michael, Bobby, and Emily who knew her affectionately as Nanny. She is also survived by her brother John Connolly of Tinton Falls, NJ, and by numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill, in 2003, and her sister Dorothy Murphy of Somerset, NJ.
