Jeanette Cheri McGregor was born December 7th, 1972 in Jamaica, Queens NY, to Lorna Soarez and Earl McGregor. From the very beginning Jeanette showed the world her strength and resilience, having been born with Down syndrome and a hole in her heart. At just two years old, she bravely underwent open-heart surgery and went on to live a beautiful 52 years of a joyful life.

Over the past 20 years, Jeanette made her home at Program Development Services in Brooklyn, NY. Where she found not only care but also friendship, love, and a true sense of family among staff and friends. She brought light to every room she entered with her warm heart, beautiful smile and playful spirit.

Jeanette loved arts and crafts, coloring, music, dancing, and especially her treasured teddy bears. She had a sweet tooth for chocolate and pancakes, and nothing made her happier than sharing smiles and laughter with others. Jeanette joy was contagious! she made it her duty to brighten the lives of those around her.

Jeanette is lovingly survived by her father, Earl McGregor, her five siblings Sandra Minotte, Mark McGregor, Roxanne McGregor and her two younger brothers Jamal McGregor and Napthal Sanchez, two nieces Jeanette Dewdney and Zhaleya Dewdney, five nephews, Tony Dewdney, Ethan McGregor, King Colbert, Josiah McGregor and Enoch McGregor and one cherished grand-niece August Dewdney. Jeanette's memory will live in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to spend her life with her.
