Iwan lived a rich and fulfilled life.
He was first and foremost a family man. He never hesitated to give what he had to his family. Iwan was devoted to his wife and children. He loved them unconditionally and always put them first. Iwan was the definition of a successful man. He raised his three daughters to become strong and independent women.
Iwan was also a great friend. He genuinely cared for those in his life. He did whatever he could to help, whether it was to give advice or just to be there to listen. He always encouraged everyone around him to be the best version of themselves, whether it was his family at home, his friends, his coworkers, or just an acquaintance in his life. He often shared his personal experiences to help others find their path.
Some may not know his life story: a story of perseverance and determination. From a young age, Iwan was a daring and adventurous man. He travelled around the world by himself with no fear. He was never afraid to go and live in a new place, even when he did not speak the language. He lived in Holland and Los Angeles, and almost moved to Hawaii before he ultimately made the decision to move to New York.
In New York, he met Rosiana, got married, and started a family. His family became his whole world. He did everything he could to provide for them. He always cooked and cared for his children. At times, he worked two full-time jobs to provide for his wife and daughters. Every single day, he worked hard and sacrificed to provide them with the best opportunities in life. And most of all, he taught his daughters to be like him: to be fearless and to fight for their dreams.
Iwan was only one year from retirement and was finally ready to enjoy what he had worked so hard for. He and his family had plans to buy a house together, where he would have his very own enormous kitchen, where he could cook all his family's favorite foods while listening to The Rolling Stones. Knowing that his daughters were all grown up, he was also ready to start the next chapter in his life.
Kind, generous, selfless, and loving are only some of the words that describe Iwan. He had a big heart and always had the best intentions. The smallest moments together made him the happiest. He has touched all of our lives and through each one of us, he will continue to have a lasting impact through the years.
