IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenn Ray
Bergstol
April 29, 2025
Glenn "Whitey" Ray Bergstol
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Glenn Ray Bergstol age 66, who passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Glenn was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather. He was a quiet warrior who endured many years of illness with grace, humor, and an unwavering positivity that inspired everyone who knew him. Though his body often failed him, his spirit never did.
Born on May 4, 1958 in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. He attended PS 185, McKinley JHS and Fort Hamilton High School. He started working early in his teens at Tail of the Fox, Dansacks and then worked many years in Sales at Kamco and S&E Building Supply Companies. Many of his customers became his friends.
Glenn still found joy in his darkest hours, and he proved it daily — with a smile, a joke, a word of encouragement, or simply his enduring presence.
To his wife Dorothy, Glenn was a partner in every sense — steady, kind, and loving. To his children, he was a role model, teacher, and best friend. He showed them that true courage often looks like quiet endurance, and that optimism is a choice made daily, even when the odds seem stacked against you.
Glenn loved simple things: a quiet day hunting in the woods, an afternoon on the golf course with the guys, a cold beer, listening to the Oldies on his favorite radio station CBS FM and telling really really silly jokes.. He was a man of few complaints, many laughs, and limitless heart.
Though he is gone, Glenn's legacy lives on in the resilience he nurtured in his children and the light he brought into the lives of those around him. We will carry his example forward — to meet life's challenges with courage, to love deeply, and to find the good, even in hardship.
He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy , his children Kristin Riches (Tom) Dylan (Jaclyn) Matthew, Lauren, Glenn, and grandchildren, Thomas, Abigail, Luke, (and another granddaughter on the way) who brought him immeasurable joy. He is survived by his two brothers David and Erik.
