Gil T. Ubina,  83,  passed away on December 5, 2017 in Brooklyn, leaving behind three children and eight grandchildren.

Gil came to the US in 1970 from the Philippines, where his goal was to live the American Dream and provide a better opportunity for his family. He began a long career in the legal profession as an attorney and paraprofessional until his retirement in 2000. He was also the co-founder and the first President of the Filipino American Association of Brooklyn (FAAB).

Gil was a beloved father and grandfather, known to his family as "Daddy" or "Di".  He touched so many with his heart, warm smile, stories of life back in the Philippines, fishing and his deep love for his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children Dr. Gilfred C. Ubina (wife Arlene, children Kyle and Ethan); Gilda Abrenica (husband Arnel, children Kristine, Brandon, Danielle and Jared); Maria Jill Ubina-Alandy (husband Michael, children Joshua and Victoria), siblings Lina, Cecilia, Pasing, Antonio and Jose; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.

Gil is reunited with his wife and favorite dance and Jeopardy/Wheel of Fortune/Fox News t.v. partner, Freda C. Ubina. He was predeceased by his brothers, Santiago and Tomas, Jr.
