POLIZZI, Frank of August 23, 2016. Beloved husband of Margaret Colvin. Loving father of James (Ramzia) and Alison. Proud grandfather of Vanessa. Frank worked as a Vista Volunteer in New London, CT, as an English teacher on the original staff to re-open Townsend Harris High School, and as a librarian at both New Utrecht High School and Wagner College.
He was the author of many captivating poems and stories, as well as the editor of Feile-Feste, a multicultural, literary arts journal. His book of poetry,
All Around Town
, was published in 2011, his sonnet series,
A New Life with Bianca
in 2015 and his novel
Somewhere in the Stars
will be published by Guernica Editions in the fall of 2016.
Frank was the founder of the MCCA (Mediterranean Celtic Cultural Association) with a literary arts journal and a comprehensive website @ medcelt.org.
In addition to his writing, Frank was a member of the Italian American writers Association and he read his work at many venues including Casa Belvedere on Staten Island, Cornelia Street Café and the Colandrea Institute. Frank loved music and traveling with his family and friends.
