Frances E. Adinolfi, age 77, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of education, music, and compassion.
She was born in New York City, the beloved daughter of Arthur and Carmela (Fabrizio) Adinolfi. Raised in Brooklyn, Frances was deeply rooted in her community from an early age.
Frances attended P.S. 102 for elementary school and graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help High School. She went on to earn both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, beginning a lifelong commitment to learning.
A long-time educator in the New York City public school system, Frances devoted her career to teaching music and serving as a classroom teacher.
As a music teacher, she inspired generations of students not only to appreciate music, but to participate in it with confidence and joy. She directed numerous school performances and concerts, bringing students together in productions that reflected her creativity. Many of her former students fondly remember the pride they felt performing under her guidance.
Beyond the classroom, Frances was known for her boundless compassion for animals, extending kindness and care to every creature she encountered.
Frances was predeceased by her husband, Steven Rutherford; her brother, Dr. Raphael Adinolfi; and her parents, Arthur and Carmela. She is survived by her niece, Kathleen Adinolfi; her nephew, Steven Adinolfi and his wife, Jenna; their daughters, Hally and Quinn; and her sister-in-law, Maureen Adinolfi.
Frances will be remembered for her intellect, her musical gifts, her compassion for all living beings, and her lifelong dedication to education.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Second Chance Rescue in honor of her lifelong care for animals.
