Until the end, she was a fighter.
Fannie Dellegrazie, 87, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 9, 2020,
after a lengthy and arduous battle with dementia.
Fannie was born March 29, 1933, and is survived by four children: Marie, Joseph, Rose, and
Theresa; five grandchildren: Melissa, Anthony, James, Lauren, and Courtney; and three great
grandchildren: Phoenix, Mateo, and Zoe.
Fannie had an unconditional love for family – especially her children and grandchildren – and
believed that family always came first.
Always the social butterfly, going back to her teenage years hanging out at ice cream parlors in
Red Hook, Brooklyn, to jaunts with friends in Atlantic City, to, more recently, being a member of
the Senior Citizen Club, which she loved so much, Fannie was very much a people person.
She also had an affinity for the arts: specifically drawing and crocheting, listening to music from
the 1940s, Frank Sinatra, and watching soap operas.
Fannie was a very religious woman as well, who often collected angel statues – in fact, she had
quite the extensive collection.
In addition, Fannie was a true gourmand – cooking up the finest in Italian fare – including her
famous lasagna, that her family and friends would swear by.
But above all, Fannie Dellegrazie was a wonderful human being – and that is how she will live
on in the hearts and minds of all who loved her.
