Eva, wife of 71 years to Benjamin and mother to Eva Elsie, Guy and James and grandmother to Cassandra, JB, Christopher and Benjamin. She devoted her life to her family. She passionately believed in education because she could not have one. Her family's economic circumstances afforded her the opportunity to attend school through the third grade and after that she worked. When she became a spouse and mother she devoted herself to providing a nurturing home in which Benjamin worked while pursuing his quest to become a professional chef that led to a 38-year career at the Friars' Club in New York, from which he retired as Executive Chef. She tirelessly supported and inspired her own children to learn and achieve an education she could only imagine through her vision of the future she wished for them. Eva Elsie attended Music and Art High School, the City University of New York, Smith College where she obtained a Masters in Psychiatric Social Work and later the Hahnemann School of Medicine where she became a Doctor of Medicine. Guy, their eldest son served as a lieutenant in the US Army Corps of Engineers and went on to a career in business as a McDonald's Owner/Operator. James, their youngest, obtained a graduate business degree from Harvard, a law degree from Columbia University and had a 30-year career in finance. Eva expressed that she felt fulfilled, as well as an enormous sense of accomplishment, knowing that she was instrumental in the growth and achievements of her spouse and children. Benjamin was forever grateful and never stopped telling her so until he departed to Heaven, just a few months ago, to share her story with the angels so that they would welcome her with open hearts and give her the reception she so justly deserves. Eva's children have tried in the conduct of their own lives to show their gratitude for the gifts of love and commitment she bestowed upon them. They will miss her until they too join her and Benjamin in eternal celebration of their family.
