Dearest mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend Ethel Twombly Spada died on January 18th after a short but devastating illness.

Ethel lived most of her life in NY on Staten Island where she was raised and then with her family in Brooklyn.  Although she worked at her job as an office manager until she retired at 75 her first priority always was her family.   She was an ardent reader, magnificent cook and extraordinary friend; happiest on a beach. Ethel's love, generosity of her time and wisdom will be missed beyond words.

She is survived by her devoted son Lewis, daughter in law Fernanda and beloved granddaughter Sofia, her sister Roberta Twombly, brother in law Ed Zagajeski and niece Molly and nephew Andrew.
