Elsie Olsen went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2020. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 25, 1919, along with her beloved twin sister, Cecelia. She graduated from Girls Commercial High School in 1936, and then worked in Payroll and Employee Benefits for NY Life Insurance and Esso Standard Oil.

From 1939-1969, Elsie taught Sunday School at Trinity Lutheran Church. She sang alto in Concordia Choir for 70 years. From 1984 until 2010 she worked tirelessly on quilts and blankets for Lutheran World Relief. Elsie was the only surviving member of her family: parents Thor and Boletta Olsen, her twin Cecelia, and brothers Iver and George and sisters in law Connie, Bobbie and Dorothy. She is survived and was dearly loved, by her nieces and nephews.

She recently celebrated her 101st birthday with a lovely party given her by her faithful friends from Trinity Lutheran Church. She was so well- liked at Norwegian Christian Home, and we will all cherish her beautiful smile, brave fortitude, and sweet presence. Jackie Lund, who was in Elsie's Sunday School class long ago,

crossed paths with her through her employment at the home. With Elsie's family so far away, she asked Jackie to "be her person," as they were both part of the
Trinity family. We are so thankful to Jackie for being a constant loving presence to Elsie at the end of her life.
