Eileen F. Fitzgerald (nee Scanlon) passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023 at the age of 84. Eileen Fitzgerald , a long time resident of her beloved neighborhood of Dyker Heights, was a NYC DOE teacher for over 30 years who enjoyed her students and colleagues. Eileen grew up in Sunset Park Brooklyn , the child of Denis and Marie Scanlon who were natives of Ireland . Eileen enjoyed researching her family's genealogy and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and had a soft spot for her "grand-doggies". Eileen is predeceased by her husband of almost 60 years, Joseph E., and their infant daughter Anne. Loving mother of John (Yesenia) Fitzgerald, Kevin (Jennifer) Fitzgerald, Kathleen Conlon (Jack Nielsen), and Patrick (CaryAnne) Fitzgerald.  Proud grandmother of Maeve and Michael Conlon, Caitlin and James Fitzgerald, Yeriemy and Jazleen Fitzgerald, and Jill Fitzgerald.
